Design and Structure:
Anafi is one of Parrot’s best designs so far. The Parrot Anafi FPV drone is lightweight, foldable, with the addition of First Person View goggles. From a hardware perspective, it’s designed is pretty much the same as the original Parrot Anafi.
The mini drone is designed in such a way that it looks like a dragonfly from the upside. Otherwise, nothing has changed from the original design. It has an optical flow sensor at the bottom, which can be used as a camera as well.
Weight: The Anafi mini drone is made up of light materials. This makes it incredibly lightweight. It weighs only 320 grams, and the only heaviest part is the battery.
Stability: The Anafi FPV drone offers a stable and easy flight. Its carbon frame and featherweight give it an easy take-off and landing. It is stabilized on five axes; three electronic axes and two mechanical axes.
Foldable: Anafi is easily foldable and deployable because of its compact design. It measures 224 x 67 x 65 mm and unfolded; it measures 175 x 240 x 65 mm when folded.
Weather-resistant: The mini drone has been specifically designed to withstand extreme conditions. It can fly in bad weather with wind speed up to 50km/h and wind gusts of up to 80km/h. It can also withstand humid heat over 40°C and dry heat over 50°C.
The Parrot Anafi Extended is the latest drone that comes with an FPV or First Person View. It also features a new compact backpack that can also double as a platform for launching the drone.
The additional features include Arcade, the new flight mode, assisted flying, and immersion flight with a virtual reality headset.
The first thing you’ll notice is that a gimbal supports the camera in the Anafi mini drone. This means that it is protected from any sort of vibrations.
While capturing stunning images, the camera can be completely tilted upwards and downwards. The drone can capture footage in 4K HDR quality. Along with high quality, it also has a 180-degree swivel gondola.
With the 21 Megapixels still, images combined with the all-new Sony sensor, you get a wide-angle aspherical lens with f/2.4 and 2.8x loss-free digital zoom.
Furthermore, you can go on to use the burst mode to capture up to 10 frames per second. You can shoot all these impressive images with optimized exposure control.
Aerial photographers can use a plethora of features that come along with the Anafi mini drone. You can now get in-depth image controls and immersive photography by adjusting the manual camera settings as you wish.
You can manually set features such as white balance, shutter speed, exposure compensation, ISO, and image histogram.
One of the best things about the Anafi mini drone is the possibility of capturing images at unique angles. Even with the tilting feature and zooming, the image quality is not lost.
You can zoom up to 1.4x while filming in 4K and up to 2.8x while shooting in 1080p. You can use the zooming features without losing the details of the footage. The Anafi mini drone captures videos at up to 30 fps.
The footage you capture with the Anafi Extended shows every turn and bank in your flight. This is due to the horizontal axis of the HDR 4K camera. It is locked to the tilt of the drone.
The drone is equipped with 3-axis hybrid stabilization. It has 2-axis roll/tilt angles and 3-axis roll/tilt/pan angles.
You can enjoy making breathtaking videos in the slow-motion and hyper-lapse video modes. The slow-motion mode is ideal for action-based videos as it records automatically adding the slow-motion result.
Low Light Performance:
We know that the Anafi FPV mini drone has stunning image quality, but what if when you have low-light situations? Upon testing, the Anafi compares OK with the likes of Mavic Air or Mavic Air 2.
Even though having a 21-megapixel sensor means that the smaller pixels tend to make things look a little rough. However, the overall performance is good.
FPV Mode and Goggles:
The addition of the FPV goggles and mode to the Anafi mini drone is perhaps the most talked-about feature. The drone comes along with smartphone-powered FPV goggles which put the pilot in the drone’s perspective.
Parrot decided to go with the smartphone as your dedicated screen with this mini drone instead of the one inside the goggles. That’s right; you use your smartphone as the screen held in front of your eyes with the headset’s help.
The buttons that are present on the headset are sort of levers. They tap a spot on your phone’s screen. This sort of tech approach eliminates the need for charging your goggles and updating it.
The FPV mode allows you to experience the sensation of flying as if you were a pilot in the cockpit. The drone’s camera feed can be directly seen on your phone’s screen in front of your eyes.
The Anafi mini drone comes with impressive flight modes, accessed from the FreeFlight 6 app. To use the app, you’ll need to make sure that your phone’s wi-fi is connected to the drone’s wireless signal.
You simply select the drone in the app, and it will be up in the air. For novice users, this feature is very helpful and easy to use. You can even bring back your drone to its starting point through the Smart RH technology.
Another most talked about feature of Parrot’s latest Anafi mini drone is the Arcade mode. This mode allows the drone to move in the direction in which the camera is panned. The Arcade mode is enabled when your craft is aloft.
In this mode, the right stick controls backward, forwards, and sideways movements while the left stick controls the camera.
Cinematic and Racing Modes:
Cinematic and racing are the new flight presets added to the Anafi mini drone. Unlike regular camera presets, these modes offer something extra, these unlike regular cameras preset in which the camera is locked to the horizon.
These preset will allow the camera to follow the banking motion of the turns you make. This allows you to capture more vivid images.
The only difference between the two flight presets is that racing shots are abrupt in their motion while cinematic offers more stable footage.
Compact Carrying Bag:
It's never been easier to carry high-tech drones along with you on hiking and other adventures. Thanks to the durable and compact-design backpack, which is included with the entire mini drone set.
It’s not only attractive but offers custom storage spaces that only accommodate the drone but the additional accessories that come with it. It has been specially designed to provide protection to the equipment.
